Anyone know what Raleigh this is?

Just picked up this frame, a little tatty with a wee dent on the top tube, perfect for what I need.
Just interested to know what it was. 531 butted, serial no is WN3001599, would that make it a ‘73 or an ‘83?
Tried looking in some old catalogues but can’t seem to identify it. Fork rake suggests 80’s over 70’s but just don’t know.

It's quite difficult to tell from the single picture but it looks like a Professional to me; possibly even a Road Ace?

Re:

Hi, the sloping fork crown suggests 1983. Not sure about the 531 decal on the seat tube, its in completely the wrong place. The brake cable hanger on the front indicates it had centrepull brakes so probably a sports / tourer but it doesnt have mudguard eyes which almost certainly indicates its a least a 501 frame. Any signs it`s been resprayed?

Re:

I don't know shit about '80s Raleighs, but that looks like the front end of one decent frame and the back end of another somewhat downmarket frame welded (or photoshopped) together... and it's not just the paint.
Imo the seatstays are not 531, and the clumsy seat lug suggests that the seat tube isn't either. See what diameter seat pin it will accept.

Re:

Definitely not photoshopped or welded. Some discrete scraping with a blade reveals no other colours of paint so that’s all original. Not tried a seat post yet built the callipers are saying between 26.8 and 27.2, albeit weirded by my ham fists. Has a basic steel ‘made in England’ bb, Raleigh cable guide and a Tange 500 headset.

My first instinct was its a Rapide 12 that someone had added some silver/grey paint to on the front, it looks right everywhere except for the top of the rear stays and the seat lug and there I'm with tourqeless in that it just doesn't look right. And its's got no down tube shifter bosses

Unless the shifter bosses have been taken off (hence that area of different colour paint) that sort of rules it out being a Rapide but any chance you can do a couple of close ups of that area and maybe the rear dropouts, rear brake bridge and a few of the lugs and I'll compare it to the 83 Rapide I've got in the garage?

For the record if it is then the dropouts would be Gipiemme, lugs would be Haden Olympic and only the main frame tubes are Butted 531, the rest would be Raleigh High Tensile, the original headset would have been a Tange CMA60 and it would have had Weinmann 500 side pulls so not centre pulls and what are the wheel clearances like for 700's?

There’s no markings on the lugs. The dropouts are Gipiemme front and rear. Clearance on 700c is pretty tight front and rear and there’s feint marks from band on shifters. It also has a chain peg on the seat stay. I’ll upload some pictures later.

Here’s the snaps, fairly close clearance, on 700x25c tyres
