Deda Energy Gpro Race Bike

Retro Newbie
Hi all,

I recently purchased an old school racer for a bargain price of £20 from Facebook Marketplace. The previous owner was selling it cheap as they wanted to make some space in their garage and said the gears weren’t changing properly. After a few minor tweaks I got it running smoothly and have enjoyed some nice rides on it.

Having scoured the internet/forums, I have found very little info about it online. It’s a lovely bike to ride with what I presume is an aluminium frame. Even in modern terms it’s not crazy heavy. It looks as though some of the parts may be newer than the frame itself.

I don’t have much to go on but I’d estimate it’s from late 90s to early 00s but if anyone had any info about it I’d be really interested hear it.

Thanks,
Tom

Well, the groupset is 1998 or later, as that's when round-top ergos appeared. I think it's post-2001, judging from the ITM Millennium stem and a post-01 rear mech. Any more is harder to judge withour better photos.

Re:

That’s great thanks for the info. It’s a Campagnolo Daytona 10 speed rear derailleur and carbon or carbon effect forks which isn’t clear from my first picture.

They look like real carbon forks with an aluminium cown. Daytona was a short-lived groupset (the motor circuit took legal action to stop the name being used - clearly there were many people who accidentally bought 500 rear mechs instead of a race ticket  ). So it looks like 2001 or so.

£20!!! Any more on there..............

Bargain - even if it is YELLOW. My Mum hated yellow, even more so when I had a frame sprayed bright yellow - and I crashed it in the first race I rode it.

The Emperor had a yellow frame that won him 3 national 25 championship titles in a row & defeated the great Alf Engers :)

I was told it was ferarri who objected to campag using the Daytona name.
I think Daytona then evolved into centaur
