it smokes and burns. I never seen the point in this brake. Just the sales man telling you you need this. V brakes are perfect. Motor vehicles need disc as heavier and faster.
 
So next time you need to stop a lathe, just press the foot plate like anybody else. Pointless.

Cantis blah blah, v brakes blah blah.

Rim breaks actually wear down the wheel until it is structurally unsound and collapses. You then have to buy and build a new one (and patch up any injuries you may have suffered along the way) The logic is completely daft.
