Kona Sex One rear V-brakes

I'm currently working on a Kona Sex One and looking to upgrade the brakes to V-brakes though encountered an issue with the rear brakes, there's a boss on the frame that accommodates a hanger for cantilever brakes that gets in the way of the V-brakes, see pictures. I found these V-brakes that might alleviate the problem https://www.amazon.com/Paul-Minimoto-Mini-V-Brake-Black/dp/B008ZTLJTY though they're expensive, are there cheaper versions out there and what are this type of V-brake called? There are also these spacers https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154584963866?var=454664577454 that might lift the v-brakes above the boss but it relocates the brakes and the brake bosses are non-removable, is there something similar that simply lifts the V-brakes by 10mm so they miss the hanger boss? Any other suggestions as to how to deal with this issue without cutting the boss of would be welcome.

Steve

A question you've probably answered, but I'll ask anyway. Does the boss unscrew?

If not, you could try brakes that allow you to run the noodle side on the opposite stay. There are a few out there that do, some are spendy, others not too bad.

I think if you raise the brake up, you might struggle to get the pads on the rims.

Thanks for the reply & feedback. The boss doesn't unscrew. There seems to be plenty of room on the V-brakes for the pads to be adjusted so a 10mm increase shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Zoom in on the pic above. Either the boss can be removed, and they can be a bugger - or it had been cut…

From my sex one thread - not my bike though
