Zolatone Paint - Get the real stuff here!!

I'm sure that I read on here somewhere that Marin stopped using it as it was fairly noxious stuff to work with and had to be used in very controlled conditions.

That's interesting. I had heard it was a trademark row about using the word Zolatone...maybe all part of the mythology.

There was also a finish called 'Nextel' which was very close to Zolatone. Prone to peelin as it just couldn't adhere to aluminium surfaces.

My Quad 77 components have Nextel finish. I'd always wondered where I'd seen it before!

I would be interested in a re-paint!

I broke my forks years ago and have been using some random things, which I guess I could paint or get some similar old marin forks and paint.

Frame is a bit scratched and marked too so I would think about repainting that if its cheap? Priority wise it needs new gears and brakes (and forks) before painting the frame though...

I've found some paint at B&Q that's for painting garden stuff that looks quite close so am planning on using it on my budget Eldridge (when I finally get round to it). I'll report back in the future.
