OK, I need to ask a stupid question here... say there is a hole drilled twixt seat tube and BB shell, doesn't all the water just end up in the BB shell and rust that out instead? Can it go anywhere? Or is it just a matter of thicker steel there taking longer to rust away?

bottom brackets are cheaper than frames mate,,mines gonna cost £200 all in to sort, thats new tube £80+vat,bottle bossesx3 £15,respray£40,decals £30
And a good bb is sealed,and the shells thicker air can circulate ------

No I meant rusting out the BB shell (ie the frame) not the BB itself...

its not realy sealed so air can circulate round and round,and my seat tubing is 1.4mm thick,bb tubing is way thicker
