Yet another LTS revamp...

Just thought I'd let you all know that you inspired me to ditch the jump bike I owned for a total of three weeks and buy a grotty old 1998 LTS-2000 to bring back to life instead! It's not meant to be period-correct, so don't shoot me! To cut a long story short, I had to replace pretty much everything on it, and did a full strip down of the frame before spending far too long deliberating about what to put back on it. More detail on my blog, but here's some photos of the finished product.

I'm yet to think of a name for her.

Like the bike but not too fussed on the neoprene protectors, spoils the look a tad, but I suppose they do serve a purpose. That Super Deluxe rear shock is 'rocking horse poo' I'm still after one but have made do with a Coupe Deluxe for the time being.

Could you get a close up of that rear disc adapter, I was toying with getting one of those myself. Any good? Any Flex? Easy to fit?

If you're not happy with the frame, you did mention Powder Coaters. If you're on a budget just Google 'powder coating' for your area and you'll find some. I did a bit of looking into it myself, stay away from 'bike specialist' they are in my opinion too expensive. Paid £30 for mine at a local factory, worth every penny. Get some helicopter tape on vulnerable areas and it will last years.

I'm also not a big fan of the neoprene over the headset cups, but they're blue and I couldn't afford to get the headset changed. I don't mind the one over the shock particularly, but having glooped through several miles of horrendous mud at Sherwood yesterday it didn't look like that area got exposed to much crud anyway.

I was lucky with the shock; didn't realise it was a Super until it arrived, and it seems to be fully functional too. Bonus! I needed to sell some more stuff before I seriously considered a power coating, but since I sold another bike this evening I might look into it in a bit more detail now. :twisted:

Will get some shots of the disc adapter for you when I get a free moment later this week (I'm currently expiring under a pile of PhD paperwork!). It seems pretty good so far - actually turned out to be quite nice quality, well put together. Doesn't seem to be much flex, but only had it out the once. I think I trust it more than the A2Z ones, just looking at them. Incidentally, I bought a Hope one to start with, but it didn't fit, so don't be tempted to bid on that when I put it back on eBay!

Look's great , what kind of Hope adaptor is it that didn't fit ?, i have the C2 set up on my DH and it works great.

I managed to get hold of it just in time to finish the build for last weekend, courtesy of the absolute life-savers at Super Cycles in Nottingham. For a no-name part it's pretty well built, decent quality.

The Hope adapter has instructions relating to a couple of their hubs, so I can only assume the spacing of it is geared towards those. There's a photo here if you fancy a look:

From the instructions supplied with it, it looks like it was also designed to be used with C2s. It'll be up in the For Sale forum soon anyway.
