Why compromise on weight i suppose. They are properly light ti frames.

My fork is a 440mm...I guess the extra 2 centimeters are responsible for the sloping downtube..seriously looking to find me an older version 420mm. Checked with the fellas at Pace and they told me I could still use this fork, just that the geometry would be slightly affected.

Well, yeah, I guess a 1998 piece isn't really considered retro, but I figured I need V-brakes and a 1st generation crossmax to match the frame era.
I think the zeroflex goes quite well with the bike = )

mine's an '02 and I consider it to be retro - don't worry about a ''98!
Retro is a state of mind.
I run the 440mm Pace RC31 Ti's too and although people will have you believe they are for 100mm corrected frames, they actually measure up exactly the same as a locked out SID, so are fine for 80mm bikes. I always found the 420's a bit low so went for the 440's and they feel much better (IMO).
