So going by your comparison It's looking like they utilised the standard bulb snap ring as what you have, is exactly what I have here. Added a 2mm ring spacer to drop the o.d from 20mm to 16mm for the i.d to match the stub, and machined a longer threaded end cap to no doubt compensate for the hope hub being a standard width and more than likely slightly wider than the proprietary sub hub which would have been designed around the stub from the beginning and subsequently a shorter body.
Excellent job, I think we've cracked it!
.....Now I just need to get an end cap fab'd.
