World Cup 2010 thread

Can't remember a worse performance from England. Been looking forward to the World Cup for ages but just feel flat now. None of them can be bothered. :(

I really dont understand those comments about worse performance of the england team .

they were not that bad , had a few shots on target .

They should've had more than a few. They are ranked in the top ten, while Algeria barely cracks the top 30.

yes, they werent bad, but compared with what they can do, they were poor

Can I just clarify a couple of things?

1. It's a draw, not ( and never has been) a tie.... That's something we wear around our necks whilst drinking tea.

2. It's "in attack", not " offence...... That's something that criminals do.

There are a few other points, but I can't be bothered.

We might not be the best at it anymore, but it's still our game, and I am very tempted to take my ball home right now.

;0)

you can take your ball home; it's much too bouncy.

no 'offence' intended

Its just that when I hear English people talking about that game you have over there....American Eggchasing or something......I feel the same way.

At least you never said anything about ' shooting a curve ball past the netminder' or something....... :D

ha...curveball, phishhh, everyone knows that's bending it like beckham :P

no,no...you are right. I played in jr.high and highschool, but not since. Also, only avidly watch during World Cup time, so I've lost some of the lingo. Love the sport; I've just lost some of the native language over the years

:D

At least you are loving the beautiful game!!

I am glad at least some of our American brethren are appreciative of football....just don't call it soccer!!

(I really never meant any malice, everything was/is tongue in cheek!!)
