Anyone following the footy?

Quite fancy Brazil to win it, but would love to see England do well (even if the games are at 2am out here!!)

I'm not a huge footy fan but like many get swept away with things when the world cup is on. We are away camping & cycling (IoW/Hampshire coast if any one is about?) but will be sure to find a pub to watch the England game on Saturday.

I've booked time off work for every game England could play right up to the final.

If England don't win then I'll be hoping Spain do as I got them in the sweepstake.

Now where's that football anthems CD I got 4 years ago. 8)

my prediction, james cordon's world cup show will only last 3 episodes, as that's how many games england'll play

Argentina for me......after Germany of course

They got off to a good start; Argentina is also a team I'm rooting for, after the USA :D

btw, we just knotted it up with England 1-1

Heh...........the scoreline, however, had nothing to do with any particular prowess on the US side :P

Neither side was tryin'...........scottish team would have let in three at least (five in the heyday of Alan Rough), before going on to beat Brazil but still go out on goal difference of double figures.

That's how ye play world cup footy.........

*staggers off alternately gibbering and humming bars of "Whee ronneh marsh wayallie zaaarmeh...."*

 and yes, that was a bit of luck.

we did demonstrate some prowess, shutting down that boy named Wayne, and almost went up one, if not for a brilliant save by the same goalie who had a brilliant gaffe :x

Well, I'd say that our first game was in keeping with tradition ..... I haven't seen the game yet, but the reports suggest a nervous start for our boys. Curse the time difference! A 2.30am kick off is a bit too dedicated for me.

In 2002 I bet a friend 50 quid that the US or Australia would win the footy world cup by 2014.
