Re:

...got the brakes today but the hose connectors out of the caliper seem to come out at the wrong angle...not straight but at a right angle....not on the bike yet but struggling to see how they will fit the fork or the seat stay.

Re:

Those are different to the X2s I've got on my gravel bike. The banjo joint is bolted from the side so you can align the hose properly (Like in the picture on page 4). That is a differently machined calliper half.

Exactly mate...there is no way they will work with any fork and on the rear only if you route the hose along the chainstay. No good for me. Will be calling Hope and Winstanley bikes where I bought the brakes asap. Gutted though as the caliper and levers are a work of art. I will be getting them again just with the correct hose connectors. Don't know how I ended up with these but hey!

Re:

I have spoken to the place I bought the brakes and they too can't see how that is a better routing...they are going to call Hope tomorrow to see what is going on...

Re:

I can only think that the position of the banjo on your x2 brakes might work alright on a bigger rotor, like a 180mm, as the calliper sits further out, and rotates a few degrees clockwise.

Re:

Having spoken to Hope they have told me that this hose connector is the new standard and its new position protects it from damage. So I have fitted them and actually they do fit quite nicely. Still awaiting the rotors...but the wheels and new cassette are on, a work in progress!

Re:

So; what they've done is they've moved the banjo joint to the inside so your heel doesn't catch it (which I can understand - kind of). But why not still have it attach in the same plane so you can adjust the hose position better?

Oh and now the bleed nipple is exposed, which I'd put money on being an even worse idea? :?
