I took the day off today and have been tinkering with the bike. I had to make a headset press as I went to the LBS and was shocked to find how much moolah they wanted for 5 minutes work. So I went to B&Q, bought some studding, washers and nylon and pressed the bearings in no probs.

I assembled the Hei Hei in the kitchen and tidied up and moved the bike into the living room while I sorted some other stuff out. At which point my wife gets home from work  she sees the bike, pauses (at this point I think it is the calm before the inevitable storm) and says "you know, that really is a good looking bike"!!! Unbelivable! I guess that is why I married her! :D

I've got enough bits left over to make another press, so if you want one send me a PM.

The press assembly is as follows:

From the top:

Nut
Washer
Steel plate
Nylon washer
Headset cup
Frame
Headset cup
Nylon washer
Steel plate
Washer
Nut
Nut

I locked the two bottom nuts against each other and then held them static. Then I used a ring-ended wrachet to gently compress the whole lot from the top nut. I actual pressed in one cup at a time.
