They are great. Ignore the reviews on MTBR VRC (well the negative ones at least) they are the best retro-ish fork I've ridden! These are from '96/7 so comparisions made with Judy XC/SID and Manitou Mach 5's all of which I own or have ridden.
These are much better - ie, leighter, stiffer (I'm 14 1/2 stone and they don't flex much) and they have a lovely plush action and smooth rebound with a massive 63mm of travel!
They're nowhere near as good as any equivalent modern fork but if you're building a 95-98 bike and want period correct I'd thoroughly recommend them.
