I got these on ebay. The seller didnt know what they are.
Strangely the lower legs separate from arch section just below the brake pivots,in fact its the bosses that holds both parts together.
The stanchions measure 110mm [closer to114mm]and the axle to crown length is about 425mm.I think that is a 100m travel, would that be right :?
Air champers on both sides with schrader valves under the black plastic caps,no external adjustment that i can see other than to adjust the volume of air you pump in.
They had a fair bit of oil inside ,i guess thats the lube though and not for damping,i could be wrong though.
Date under the crown reads 00 so that puts it @ 2001
I though it might be a z4 air,but im not sure that one had the coated stanchions.
Some twat has covered the whole fork in multi layered hammerite  ,thats going to be fun removing.
I can see some red on the legs and some black on the brace it that helps anybody with their identification
After id taken them completely to bits ,ive found its in great condition inside and out,inc the stanchions, theres not any wear that i can see.

It's good enough condition i think to be worth sorting,.:?
The crown i got the metal polish on last night, there are still quite a few scratches and scrapes but its polished up not too bad for ten mins work :D
The only problem ive found [apart from the missing mounts and bosses is the seals.I cannot get them out no matter what i do.
the same twat that used the hammerite painted the seals as well,so theyre not happy about being unseated.I might have too cut them out and try and find replacements

Anybody got any ideas as to what they really are?.

Looks like either a Z4 Air or Z5 Air. The red colour points to a Z5 for the 2001 model year.
Link here.

Z4 manual here.
Z5 manual here.

Replacement seals will be easy enough to get hold of from windwave.
Good luck getting the paint off them though.

The M arch style is the replacement for the BAM brace in 2000.

Air Oil ? Could be the evolution of my SuperFlys and so the X-Fly which the became in 2000 with that brace style, and 2001 the moved the valves to the top (from by poor knowledge on these things). but post above is probably better then mine.

--- (assuming 2001 here some info from me table)
IF the SSV is externally adjustable it's Z3 if 80-100mm travel or Z3.5 if 100mm travel only.
If the SSV is internally adjustable it 's the Z4 and 80-100mm travel.
If the SSV in non-adjustable it's the Z5 and has 80-100mm travel.

If it has a rebound cartridge then its and Xfly 80 (80mm travel) or Xfly 100 (100mm travel)
