Which brands started as cool and have managed to remain so?

I think Kona, Marin are mere shadows of there former selves. And burn me at the stake for saying it......Fat Chance too, despite all the propaganda

Marin stopped making good bikes when the accountants took over in the late 90s.

Everything started getting built to price imo.

What about Salsa? Are they still cool?

No.

Difficult subject as good doesn’t mean cool and vice versa.

Trek make great bikes ( I’ve had three) but much like me, they never have and NEVER will be cool. Same with Specialized.

Pace were the epitome of cool but the modern ones don’t do it for me. Could be from any number of catalogue manufacturers.

GT lost me during the idrive era but more recent ones are looking better. Plus they’ve picked up Katy Winton for this years EWS series. Not sure they’ll ever reach the coolness levels of the original Zaskar or STS again through.

Santa Cruz and Yeti definitely pass the test along with Intense.

To be Fair, it was ATBsales who the UK had to thank for the brand being so dominant in the UK, in fact i think they were more prevalent in the uk market than anywhere else.

When ATBsales were no longer responsible for the UK distribution/input, the brand fell flat on its face. (a lot more to it but that's the gist).
