Apologies for the naff title but I don't know the proper term for the wedge / expander bolt thing.

Mine has had a major malfunction, i.e. it's ******.

It's to fit Colnago Force 1" forks for an Ahead stem arrangement.

The barrell of the wedge thing is 18mm diameter with same dimensions for the internal diameter of the forks.

For the life of me I can't find a replacement on the www. Anyone know where I can get hold of one please....cheers

cheers, "bung" is the industry word is it?

1 1/8 are commonplace, less so in this design for 1". Ribble have some but they look a bit naff!

Yep, that's what they are universally known as. I think there's a fancy name as well.

The bung was introduced mainly for carbon steerers, if your fork column is AL or steel, you
can use a normal star fangled nut instead.

Its a carbon steerer so i've just bought the M-Part component - cheap & cheerful for sure, put my original top cap on and I should be good to go. Cheers for the input chaps - appreciated.

Re:

Well that hasn't gone to plan. Ordered the M-PART expander (1") and it doesn't fit :x . The wedge (bottom piece) is too wide for the steerer and the shape of the top part doesn't sit properly either, though a 2mm maybe 3mm spacer would sort that.

After looking around the www it would seem the original part which i've snapped  was issued with Colnago Star & Force forks so the chances of finding an exact replacement are erm zero!

Back to drawing board. This is when having a choice of bikes to ride comes in most handy (self justification :) )

nope not good but these are the trials & tribulations I suppose. Swearing - tick, tea - tick. The inbetween is the next point of call, a bit of filing may be answer. I'll see if my LBS has an easier option though first. Suspect they won't but I need a few provisions from them so i'll nip down this week.

Unfortunately for me the forks don't have a hole at the bottom, so I have ever decreasing options on this one.
