However comments like these really annoy me:

I wouldn't have let him back in either.

Yes, he may well learn his lesson when he ploughs headlong into an oncoming vehicle, and may not do it again. But what about the other driver? The innocent party?

These comments seem to advocate dangerous driving, and attempting to cause accidents.

Driving like that IMO is worse than the driver first mentioned.
Driving like what, exactly??

His journey is not my responsibility.
I wouldn't have sped up or slowed down to keep him out, I just would have maintained my journey, at my pace, as I had probably been doing previously.
That is not bad driving or worse than some dumb cnut who gets a kick out of this kinda stuff.

before an argument starts i'm pretty sure he means the ones that accelerate to stop you coming back in.

he's got his foot out for some reason...

thats biker for "thank you"

he probably cacked himself on that one

It was more of an 'i'm going way too fast into this corner' motorcross style foot gesture.

I got the impression he was more chav than biker.

I really do hope he crapped himself and it's sorted him out.

So you wouldn't make any effort to avoid a crash by ignoring what is going on around you?

His journey is not your responsibility, but do you not care about other road users?

If you fail to do all you can to prevent an accident it is bad driving.

Thank god I no longer have to drive on British roads.

Perhaps he did, and I have no interest in arguing .. it's just my post was specifically quoted and there is 100% nothing wrong with what I would do in that situation.. to claim otherwise is ludicrous at best.

In fact, given the likelihood of erratic driving from twonk in van, maintaining course and speed is probably the safest action....

Now you're speaking generally and not specifically to this situation - pointless.

Why a comment like that? The UK is one of the safest places to drive:

''The UK has a good record for road safety compared with most other EU countries. In 2006 it had one of the lowest road death rates in the EU, at 5.4 per 100,000 population. The UK rate was also lower than the rates for other industrialised nations such as the United States (14.3 per 100,000 population), Australia (7.8 per 100,000 population) and Japan (5.7 per 100,000 population).''

we had to brake and let him in otherwise there would most certainly have been a head on accident, .

According to you, in that specific situation you would not of tried to help avoid an accident.

I call that bad driving.

The standard of British driving has deteriorated in the 25 years I've been driving, due to the attitude of people like IDB1.

Think what you like..

Your opinion on my driving is worthless, my driving record is sufficient evidence to indicate you are talking out of your arse.

This coming from the man that states he wouldn't slow down to help avoid an accident?

The evidence is here for all to see.
