Where do I find a golden arrow downtube shifter adaptor?

Hi,

new here so I hope this is the right place to ask a question?

I am building up a 1980 Ken Bird time trial bike that had a few modifications 10 years ago when braze ons were added and it was resprayed. I started putting the bike together over the holiday and came across a school boy error. I have picked up a lovely golden arrow groupset from a few places with braze on downtube shifters. The issue is the bosses are not compatible as I had forgotten golden arrow/600 had propriety bosses. Does anyone know where I can get adapters to allow them to fit as I am sure they exist.

Many thanks,

Big Al

Re:

Shaun,

I have all the parts. The issue is the silver part that should be snug to the downtube isn't as the bosses are too long. I believe there are larger versions of these to allow 600/golden arrow to work with the longer standard bosses.

I guess you have the curved washers like this pic that fit against the frame?

Shaun,

those are what I have but the bosses are too long so they don't sit against the frame. I believe that there are deeper ones but can't seem to locate a supplier. I thought that after the golden arrow/arabesque they moved back to fitting a standard boss so there should be covers that can be used?

I don't think so but the bike is at my mates workshop. I think though I may have found someone who supplies the part. I was looking at other shifters on the hilary stone website and he says he can supply conversion kits to allow 600 to be used on standard bosses. Dropped him an email so I will will wait and see.

I hope so. He does know his stuff and sells plenty of vintage shifters so maybe he has come up with something himself. Probably won't get a reply until Friday but thanks for the input and happy new year.
