I think that's the thing about Heat - good story, great script, a stellar cast, strong performances, does what it says on the tin. That's the thing, though, I watched the film, expecting a great film and it delivered - but there were no surprises, no above-and-beyond aspects - it fulfilled it's potential - which was no mean feat - but it didn't exceed it's potential, perhaps that's why it doesn't get the sort of adulation that some expect.twain":12suuail said:why has no one mentioned Heat? has 2 of the best names in the industry in it.
technically has everything you want in a film.
superbly shot - every frame is an awesome picture,
great moody soundtrack,
some 'deep' moments
some effing awesome action (one of the best shoot outs ever)
great script.
in theory, you shouldn't need to watch any other film. ever.
but if you do, watch Repoman or They Live.
They Live is a perfect example of a film that exceeded it's potential, which - I suspect - is why has something of a minor cult following.
