Whats in your trail kit?

two inner tubes tubes, presta valves as they'll fit any rim! punture patches and tyre levers, crank brothers multi tool, 6'' of chain and several power link connectors, two gear cables, spare set of of brake pads, 20 cable ties, first aid kit, combined shock and tyre pump, rear mech hanger, a few nuts and bolts, chain ring bolts x 2, 2m of insulation tape, hand wipes, surgical gloves!, sharp knife, pen and finally a tesco's placcy bag to stick my rubbish in

mind you there was a time when you only had carry half the crap we do now as another cyclist (tintin) would stop and ask if you needed help as you sat on the trail side looking at your bike, then they would proceed to drag the bits you needed out their bum bag hand them over and say give us them back next time you see us  now its only the odd one or two that will stop to offer assistance :(

Everyone is carrying a lot of kit

I have my keys , wallet and sometimes a phone , only useful as a clock or phone book as it can't make calls . Either the phone or a watch and If I can get away with it no wallet . My old multitool that must have screwed together at least 100k worth of bikes in the 8 or so years I've had it , If need be I have a lezyne tool that fit's on the keys ( or more accurately , the keys fit on the tool ) Sometimes I'll take a smoke but I don't like having to carry so much stuff , there are already 4 items in my jean pockets , adding smokables and the stuff required starts making me think that you can only ride a bike if you have the necessary kit and it starts to lose it's fun when you need to plan ahead and gather so many items together . It's funny when your out for a ride with some people and something comes loose on someones bike , a dozen strange looking tools appear . Do the woods really need half a dozen 6mm allen keys

Depends what bag I have and what might need refixing!

Basic list is

Inner tube
Puncture repair kit
Multitool
Two metal tyre levers and a chunky plastic one that is also good for levering tyres back onto rims if I get stuck!
Joining link for chain

Individual allen keys, screwdrivers, spanners to fit whatever what I have been working on ... I never trust my mechanical abilities!

Phone
Cash
Debit card

and
something to eat!
