Santa brought me some bits to finish off my latest build and some very nice tools to add to my collection. Non-bike stuff included the Rush sector 1 box set - only 2 more to complete the set and a Stylophone. Always wanted one BITD but my parents didn't get me one.
there is a history in our family of me & my brother always buying each other something that needs building on xmas day.
when my brother was taking my gift to the checkout, the cashier says to him, "i've bought one of these for my eldest kid, who is this for"
"my little brother" he replies.
"aaaah, thats sweet of you. how old is he?"
"28."

silence, followed by a funny look from her not knowing if he meant i was just a big kid or if i was a little bit simple!!!

I was sat thinking about what mechanical stuff I'd learned about through lego...
Engine pistons
gear boxes
rack and pinion steering
suspension
pneumatics
All learned as a kid, all while playing with toys.
Lego is great stuff.

you also forgot to mention the mechanics of pain thresholds.
try stepping on the corner of a small square block, barefoot, drunk & while trying to sneak into the house undetected after a lock-in.
there is a very unique pitch to the scream you let out when stepping on the little scandinavian bundles of goodness!
