what we got for crimbo

Norovirus, just getting over it now.

Off to my folks tomorrow belatedly to deliver their presents of a late 90's Giant Escaper Expert for my Dad and Specialized Hardrock Comp for my Mum. Both have been sympathetically upgraded with the Giant Gaining some Judy C's and the Hardrock having the crappy brakes swapped for some STX-RC V's. Been dying to deliver the two and the virus really put a downer on it. I think it will be the first bike either have had for Xmas and they are in their 60's.

My eldest seemed pleased with the Kona Hahanna I restored and modded for him and although he's only taken it around the cul de sac it does fit and will get some use in the coming years.

Got some Turbo Trainers myself and an expedition cycling book which looks a good read.

Carl.

N'owt bike related this year; couple of DVDs I was after (yes, Harry Potter was one!); more Jamie Oliver crockery; a £38 bottle of Single Barrel JD; a fair few bottles of decent wine; a bottle of Jamiesons from my daughter; and the complete bound Far Side collection from SWMBO to go with the complete Don Martin MAD collection she got me for my birthday 8)

Tell a lie, I did get some new Tracksters and a matching top...

...and the 5-string Strat-necked Tele body/neck I'm building arrived in time to treat myself

I got this.

A carpet?

al.

yeah - a carpet. often found on the floor in houses or on the walls in run-down indian restaurants.

Also can be found with you lay face down on, smart ass!!

I was reminded by the missus that I got a carpet a few years ago for a car. Said car has been locked away so long, I'd forgotten.

I got a beautiful Volcom wallet :-D
I also got slippers, pyjamas and leather driving gloves. Don't knock any of that lot, I love them!
My mother in law got me £30 worth of Animal shop vouchers - well chuffed.
One of my friends bought me this, I was amazed and so grateful. He even arranged with a mutual friend of ours who makes cycle degreaser for him to supply enough degreaser to fill it. :-D

Shiny retro parts here we come!

a bike bit related thing I got was XTR SL-M980 Shifters (after dropping several hints and setting the crc page as default on the browser!). These will go on my Scott Scale that I treated myself to for Chrimble. Nice.
