I seem to remember having Farmer Johns on my Explorer in about 1986ish, so not too far off. I'm not sure when they were introduced exactly.

I've just been thinking a similar thing regarding tyres for the karakoram. She's going to get ridden, so new tyres with an old school 'look' seem a good idea. So now I'm looking for a modern tyre that looks like it was designed in 1989.
