What to do with old Trek 8900

Retro Newbie
I've broken my Trek 8900 (1992 - the purple one!) the carbon bonding has come unstuck for the bottom bracket housing on the frame as per previous posts. I've had a really good deal from Trek for a new bike - so have used up the lifetime guarantee; but i don't know what to do with the old frame. Is now stripped of useful parts - is there anyone out there with any interest / ideas?

I would consider putting on ebay if someone had a need / good plan....

I would post piccys but file size is too big at the mo.

I've stripped it for useful parts - still has BB fitted but no drivetrain or groupset. Forks are still good, does have some old amber walled tyres on it - but to be honest they are starting to perish. The purple anodized stem is still present - as are purple bar ends - lovely!

Should take all parts off and sell individually on ebay - is there anyone out there still running one of these?

Cut the carbon tubes into napkin rings and sell them on ebay.

Cut out the section with 8900 on it and send it to me, as I miss my 8900.

Lovely frame, shame to hear of it's demise.

Isn't there any way to rebond it? My understanding was that they used aerospace grade "glue" to fix the bonded frames together.

yup its a write off fo sizzle

I'm thinking wall art now too.

The frame is an official write off - have tried bonding (no funny business!) and no success.

It was a terrific ride - and has stood up to years of abuse. 20 years old isn't a bad lifespan for early carbon. And Trek were really decent when i contacted them.
