What pedal thread for 1995 GT Timberline with Alivio cranks?

Hi! First time poster...

TL;DR - Should I get 9/16" threaded pedals or do the Alivio cranks have a 1/2" thread?

Just got myself a 1995 GT Timberline. It's waiting for me in another city and I will get my hands on it in a couple of months.

While waiting I will buy some parts I know I want to replace.

Most everything on the bike is stock (except for the tires, bottom bracket, chain and cassette) and it has the Alivio cranks.

Should I get 9/16" threaded pedals or do the Alivio cranks have a 1/2" thread?
