My interest started around 87/8 when a local lad got a Raleigh Mustang and we all marvelled at it's ability to climb the hill in the park! it was a couple of years before I saved up enough to get my own but I remember wanting a terrible Apollo Blizzard because I liked the colour, then some sort of Peugeot (Lazer 15 possibly, or the pink and black one?), again because the colours were ace before actually buying a Saracen Tufftrax. My list is:

1989 Saracen Tufftrax.
1989 Orange Clockwork (second hand in 92).
1999 GT XCR4000. Terrible thing.
2005 Orange Evo 4.
2006 Orange 5.
2009 Orange 5.
2013 Orange 5 29.
2016 Orange Segment.
2020 Orange Stage 5.

These have been my main bike at the time but I've also had/have a couple of gravel bikes, 2015 Orange P7, probably 4 or 5 2007 Orange Clockwork's, an On One Whippet and am just about to finish a Pace RC627. Obviously had about 50 million retro's since I joined this site as well!!
The Pink / Black one would be either the Peugeot Trail or Raider.. around 1987. The fat man delivered me a Trail that Christmas. The Laser was blue and white iirc.. Ranger red and white..

So.. The Peugeot Trail was my first, c.’87 (and I managed to acquire another one last year)

Then.. 95 Marin Pine
97 Kona AA
98 GT LTS 1000 DS (which I still have)

Years And dates are kind of lost.
Some of the bike I've owned.

During my school days:

Hand me down shopper bikes made of solid cast iron
Raleigh Max
Saracen Tufftrax (first bike build using secondhand frame)

I doubt anyone here knows of the greek bike manufacturer FIDUSA (https://fidusa.gr/en/)?

That was my 1st expensive MTB in '94 that I raced for 4 years. It was build with Columbus Thor and unfortunately had a very low BB. It was also very flexy.

Previously I raced on Cannondales M1000 from '91 and '92.

1988ish Raleigh Marauder (Crimbo pressie).
1989 Diamond Back Asent (1st bike I brought myself).
1990 Diamond Back Asent EX (brought after previous was stolen).
1988 Muddy Fox Explorer (commuter hack).
1991 Diamond Back Axis (an upgrade from the Asent EX).
1991 Yeti Ultimate (still got it, still ride it, will NEVER get rid of it, a proper keeper).

At this time I was working in a bike shop and was allowed to sell 2nd hand bikes as a supplement to my wages, so I'd buy-ride-get board-sell for the next 30+ years.

My first mountain bike was a Raleigh Outland (lower end stuff) back in the autumn of 1993. I was just turning 15 at the time and pretty short (5ft5), i grew to 5ft10 by age 22. I had it for 4 years (1993-1997) and upgraded it with a slim gel saddle, better crankset (Alivio), Altus rear mech and brake levers. It weighed a ton (about 15kg).

Next in summer 1998 was my first 'proper' MTB. A Univega Alpina 502 from 1996. Really nice tubeset (double butted ovalized tubes) with Shimano STX and Suntour Giga crankset. 11.7kg all up. My first paycheck as a 19/20yo student working part time in a supermarket went towards it via Mail Order (Winstanley's If i remember correct). It was £300 brand new, reduced from £500 due to being a 96 model.

£300 in 1998 is worth £661.59 today

1989 Emmelle Cheetah. Given away
1991 GT Talera, with Girvin Flex stem. Stolen
1993 Orange Clockwork 1993. Ridden until it died 2011

Too many to remember.
Many Huffy’s, many Schwinn’s, Giant, GT, Raleigh, Trek, some kind of 1980s Italian job. All sold, given away or rode in the salt until the the mechanicals were sieized beyond further repair. All my other old timers I’ve kept. I have 80s-90s Specialized, Ross, GT, Peugeot, another brand I don’t remember. I also have 2008, 2015, 2018 and 2022. Mountain bikes. I’ll also keep these until they become BITD.
