Rocky Mountain Altitude 1995 – Build Thread 🍁✌️

Hi guys,
I just came across a little treasure here in Central Europe and thought it deserved its own thread on this great, cult forum.

This bike is being built mainly for riding the rolling terrain of our Jizera and Lusatian Mountains – wide gravel roads as well as narrow, playful singletracks. There’s plenty of fun to be had around here, so I’m always on the lookout for great-handling bikes, not only from the 1990s.

Kona, Rocky Mountain… geometries that feel right from the very first ride. And that’s exactly what I’m hoping for from my Altitude.

I found the frame on Kleinanzeigen in Cottbus, about a two-hour drive from my town. I went to pick it up myself, passing through the poetic lake district formed from flooded open-cast coal mines. And besides the frame, I also met a great guy – Dirk, who collects mainly old Brodies and had this frame up for sale.

So here we go…

You will not be disappointed, as they are beautiful riding frames.
