Interesting! that drop out looks quite similar indeed!The dropout detail and use of a number 25 hanger, along with the guide for the rear mech cable, and squarer chainstay look very similar to a 2004 carrera fury. It's not one of those because they didnt have v-brake bosses, but it might be a starting point. Perhaps another carrera in the range (kraken etc), or something by whoever built the frames at that point, could be merida?

apart from the downtube reinforcement gusset (with hole in it) it seems identical!same dropout used on barracuda's from 2000ish.

I have figured out that is is possibly a Barracuda. A 'BSO', not the original American company (they're well supported over at the Barracuda forum)

The frame number suggests that the frame is from 1996, which is when the original Barracuda company...

agree with previous, carrera or baracuda or brand X would fit the bill.
