What cycling shoes do you have?

My old SPD Diadora's are starting to show their age a bit, so I'll very soon be on the look out for a replacement set (not fussed about retro or modern, tbh) of MTB shoes.

So in a Vox-populae type fashion, I'd like to know what MTB shoes you wear on a ride, recommendations + complaints (must be SPD compatible) so that I can draw a shortlist together.

I'm liking Lake (tho they seem quite pricy   ) or Diadora again, etc. etc. blah blah...

I want another pair of Poobahs. . . but don't ride SPD any more so make do with some VAN's skate shoes.

Shimano make the best shoes. My old M110's lasted 15+ years!

At the moment I have a posh pair of Gaerne's and a pair of cheap and cheerfull Shimano.

Both comfy, the Gaerne's especially.

IMO, spend a few ££'s and get a good pair of Shimano. Surviving 15+ years of abuse cant be bad

i have good old shimano 110's(i think they are 110 - the winter ones with the neoprene ankles) and just bought a pair of 661 attack. they were cheap and are comfortable.

my gripe with all spd shoes is i cant cross my big toe over my "index toe".

i know i cant do it and i know there's no need to do it but i always try.

I have 3 or 4 pairs of Sidis , including winter boots .

great shoes , very rigid but comfortable . only downside is the price .

Specialized Taho - very comfy, have helped my knee issues greatly and have lasted about 3 years of rough stuff type riding/walking (they are great for walking in.
Very happy with quality and weight but the new 2010 ones don't have the velcro overstrap which is a shame.

Ahh yes, SIDI. I have a pair of SIDI road shoes, with the ratchet strap on the side.

Very comfy and VERY rigid, which is what you need with a cycling shoe.

I have a pair of Specialized BG road shoes with the ratchet strap, and they're great...............for about an hour, then I get a numb little toe on my right foot, and I've tried everything to combat it, but alas to no avail,

Which has put me off Specialized stuff a bit, tbh, too....

I've used Specialized for ages but had a change a couple months ago to Bontrager and they are a very nice fit.
