True, looks wise I loathe them, but each to their own.
My personal view-point on Spinergy stems from witnessing the issues the Mud Dock/Trek team had with them in the '90s - blades getting chunks taken out of them by stones, hubs disintegrating, axles snapping. Anecdotally, I knew riders who did have wheels collapse - although this also goes for Spin wheels. Let alone those riding snow-flake spoked wheels, 28 spoke Hope lightweight hubbed wheels. It's horses for courses after all...
The point I was making at the start of this thread is that BITD I didn't trust Spinergy wheels. 15+ years on I trust them even less, not because of anything irrational, not because of anything I've read on the web (I just had a look at some of the bad-press and law-suits for the first time, and I'm not surprised at your reaction to more negativity marin man), but because I saw failures and didn't want that to happen to me. Spokes rule!
