What a Crime !!

True, looks wise I loathe them, but each to their own.

My personal view-point on Spinergy stems from witnessing the issues the Mud Dock/Trek team had with them in the '90s - blades getting chunks taken out of them by stones, hubs disintegrating, axles snapping. Anecdotally, I knew riders who did have wheels collapse - although this also goes for Spin wheels. Let alone those riding snow-flake spoked wheels, 28 spoke Hope lightweight hubbed wheels. It's horses for courses after all...

The point I was making at the start of this thread is that BITD I didn't trust Spinergy wheels. 15+ years on I trust them even less, not because of anything irrational, not because of anything I've read on the web (I just had a look at some of the bad-press and law-suits for the first time, and I'm not surprised at your reaction to more negativity marin man), but because I saw failures and didn't want that to happen to me. Spokes rule! 8)

I like spokes too but just like something different thats all.....they are on my manitou which only sees the seafront now so shouldnt implode.....tooo quickly

alot of the press reports etc and law suits were just greedy american litigation firms...and the pics of the broken mtb one on youtube were when a car ran over it

But taking into account all you guys have said...........I will still ride mine....

does that make me insane :? probably....

doesnt explain how they still make very good money on ebay does it...last set I spotted made 360

True, but then it's the irrational attachment we all have to often fundamentally inferior bike parts. They can often be ineffably cool. Bet it's a conversation starter when you ride with them, eh? 8)

If you guys are afraid of this wheels what to say about the weight weenies stuff that is installed on bikes this days??

Sub 100gr handlebars, sub 400gr Cranksets, sub 1000gr wheelsets, yes, all carbon, and yes, I ride them every day and race with them occasionally.
Had some failures on something's but I know the reason, could be an option to buy another type or another one.

Having bikes to show off is great, they will never fail or break, but speak without testing, having or because we can not have or buy them is called sometimes another thing on my opinion, even on retrobike or weight weenies world.

Do you mean jealousy nuno......there is a lot of that on here...people who "like" 200gs are often to be found slagging off any thing better......

Like when you went to school with expensive trainers......all the poor kids would pick on you and say look at them stupid shoes....in essence because they couldnt have any
