Were Super Maxy cranks ever shiny?

I am restoring a 60s 5 speed for fun, and took the crankset off for a degrease.

Before I investigate polishing compounds, does anyone know if they were ever shiny? Were they forged, and sold unpolished/anodised?

It seems silly for me to go to the effort if not.

Mine are swaged, 48t, and I can't find a definitive catalogue picture to tell. Can anyone remember?

Is it worth the effort?

Always a bit hit and miss, the rings were generally anodised and the crank part sometimes. Useless red crank caps always fell apart though lol
