Well I couldnt resist trying an Ebike conversion on an old Raleigh Pioneer Venture

Hi, new here, I fancied trying an E-bike conversion so fitted a YOSE POWER kit to my old Raleigh Pioneer Venture and its alot of fun, it rides just like a normal bike but has superpowers (or rather I do now), 13Ah battery, legal 250W motor (they do a 350W option but this is fine), it has an optional throttle, the bike is not really too heavy and the full kit with all the tools required for the convrsion (crank extractor, cassette whip, alen keys) was 350gdp, I have just done a 30 mile blast and came back with 40percent battery remaining, I like it

A couple of notes on the conversion, I swapped the original Canti brakes for some V brakes which are well up to the job, fitted some flat bars (it had drops but the supplied flat bar levers have a cut out switch which cuts the power when braking, works really well). I took the two smaller rings off the triple chainset but kept the front mech as it prevents chain drops. I really like that all the parts are generic, its a standard 36v Hailong battery which are widely available, the controller is neatly concealed in the battery mount. The Raleigh will take 700x40c tyres which I have fitted with Tannus Armour (great product) and it means that you can climb hills out of the saddle twice as fast (at least). On the flat I barely use the assistance, I still feel like a proper cyclist on this bike, just faster
