Hi hope you can help
In taking off my rear wheel, which doesnt have a quick release, is old style solid axle, the deraileur bounced around and took all my attention and I ended up realising I had three washers on the floor.
So, 3... odd number, where they go??
If it was 4 I can imagine its one for either side of the dropout on each side of the frame. But 3....?
My current thinking is that I might have removed one washer on the gear-side 20 odd years ago in order to create enough space on the thread for my deraileur guard, eg the guard is kinda acting like the fourth washer... but Im not sure.
So I thought Id ask people who know (retro enthusiasts) please, whats the normal washer arrangement on the axle please?
