Wanted: Rocky Mountain logo scan

What diameter is the downtube ?

I can measure the Altitude (91) which has a thinner downtube than the Fusion (92) which has a 35.something diameter iirc)
Mind I don't think it actually makes a difference

Neither have the extra 'opposite to the black' shadow like gil_m decals have though.

Mine are certainly not as spaced (both make and model) out as the pdfs you sent me and are more scrunched up, but about as tall.

Will get on the job tomorrow (UK time ;)).

Thanks Gil,

Looks like almost the same height (assuming your height is combined height of both lines) but the length is quite a bit shorter. guess you have a lot tighter tracking on the letters.

btw, here's a few shots of test print as comparison to original. ;)

k, i measured the downtubes of the Cirrus and Stratos, and aside from very minor deviation (from the Stratos being painted and the Cirrus not) they measure a tad over 40mm.

however, the blizzard i can't measure properly because the tubes are oval, and it varies from the headtube junction down to the bb junction. :P

but just holding up my test print against the tube, i think the fit should do fine.

down tube logo
on Altitude is
20mm height for main text and the shadow is 2mm out in both directions (hence total height 22mm)
for the I it's 'angled' height is 22mm (ignoring shadow)

Total length
(ignoring shadow)
R...Y, measuring along the bottom of text
13cm start edge of R to end edge of Y's tail

Y (edge of tail) to M (start of) is 4.7cm

M......N is 21.8cm

giving total length of 39.5cm* along the bottom (will be same along to top), add in slope to get 'actual total length' including top and add the 2mm for the shadow.

top tube logo
I have specific details for myself but is pretty much half dimensions, slight alteration in shadow though.

Notes:

Fusion is a touch smaller in lettering height but they are not to the same quality as the Altitude (i.e. fading, pealing and not lacquered over) and it was harder to measure leaning over a back wheel

Angle of text Lean would be 12.3degrees from above, though 12.5 would make more sense

Print it on transparency and place it over and you'll see how close it is, though I doubt it'll be the end of RetroBikeWorld if it's a touch out :D

*EDIT, may as well do the total length
2mm (shadow) + 395mm (text length along bottom) + 9.3mm (slope effect)
= 406.3mm if I've done that correctly.

Lots of activity on this lately. I hope my email reply with those pdfs were of some help somewhere.

I wonder if the mods would consider a sticky with info for decal replacements for all makes. I know there are a few people on here that print / sell / create decals so a sticky would / could prevent people from re-inventing the wheel or spending time seaching through old threads. There are a ton of threads on here with people talking about / displaying / posting the same thing. I know this because I've spent endless hours searching through them in the past.

Even a sticky with contact info for people wiling to exchange artwork would be great for a lot of members. Just a thought.

my bad, i made a mistake and it's actually 386mm across instead of 486mm. i was puzzled why my measurement was so far off from both Gil's artwork and FC measurements.

so now it seems what i have should be fairly spot on in the correct proportions for both Alu and CroMo frames. ;)

i took a look at them but me being finicky decided i'd create my own artwork from scratch to try and be as accurate as possible. i will however probably use the frame tubing decal as a basis to re-create my own for the blizzard. do appreciate having received the art files you had!

Any pictures or pdf's can always go in the Gallery & Archive, just send them to me and I'll put them up for you and for everyone to see and use.

Cool....I'll need some Cirrus ones soon. In the meantime and if this of any help these are pix of an original Cirrus someone sent me (sorry I dunno who it was...)
