Maybe this is old hat elsewhere, but a new "trend" in kent is to find traps laid on trails that bikers use. A mate of mine damaged himself and his bike recently when a significant hole was covered with sticks and then leaves. Also logs are placed across single track to slow bikers.

Is this limited to kent, and who is doing it?

Ive often come across logs across the path around blind corners.

Unfortuantely some of us bikers can get a bit carried away off road and lets be honest, we've all given the occasionaly rambler a shock whilst hareing up behind them at speed.

Unfortunately its human nature for some of the less scrupulous ones to exact some kind of revenge.

I wish people would stop to think about the genuine possibilities of their actions sometimes. I pray that karma does its job on them in return.

VIVA KARMA!

There have been reported incidents in the past of people finding ropes and wires strung across paths at roughly neck level. Quite easy to imagine some terrible injuries from such actions. It certainly isn't a new trend though.

my mate was quite badly shaken, and more important, his top tube dented.

I just cant think that those that are doing it understand the potential consequences

More likely local daft kids than walkers.

I got stones chucked at me by a bunch of guys shouting football abuse at me recently when I was out. Not that I'm entirely sure how they knew I supported a different team from them (I did)

Sadly they were in their late 30's.

in the local forest where I ride it seems to be the horse riders that drag the fallen trees across the trails! they seem to think that have a god given right to do what they please! ride where they like and if they can stop others (walkers and cylists) using the same trail they will try! I regularly use a short section of bridal way/path to link together a couple of trails, lately there has been an increase of fallen trees dragged across this section, I have been dragging them back off the trail and if I can breaking up the trees the best I can or reporting them to the forestry workers who go and take a chain saw to the trees so they cant be used again :)
