More likely local daft kids than walkers.

I got stones chucked at me by a bunch of guys shouting football abuse at me recently when I was out. Not that I'm entirely sure how they knew I supported a different team from them (I did)

Sadly they were in their late 30's.

Were you eating a jam tart or do you have a blue nose? :)

Possibly the first, sure as hell not the second.

Met a bloke on a horse on my local cycle path. His horse startled a bit and so he started swearing at me and saying bloody bikes shouldnt be allowed on this path and that horses had used this path for years before the council made it a cycle route.

Calmly I reminded him that this was in fact a disused railway line and that the iron horse had more right to it than him.

He was not amused.

Unfortunately all the user groups of this great isle will never see eye to eye but if it gets to laying traps for one another its gone too far

A few years ago, I used to work with people who had learning disabilities.

Taking people cycling was the biggest part of my job, but I used to take the guys to ride horses with the local Riding for the Disabled group.

It was run by proper horsey women, who had been brought up around that lifestyle and knew everyone who was part of the equestrian world in the local area. There were regularly logs pulled across bridleways that stopped us riding and they used to blame cyclists.

At Chicksands we have a log monster. Ride down one particular stretch singletrack and you will find large logs and branches all laid perpendicular to the trail. Most riders treat these as obsticles and deal with them but it puts off the casual rider. If you move the logs they return a few days later.

. Also logs are placed across single track to slow bikers.

Is this limited to kent,?

No. Surrey as well.

I was out on the road the other day..busy road so i had my lid on, got water thrown at me by the passenger of a white van man. A few choice comments were uttered at volume by myself only to watch him lean out his window, motion for me to come closer and shout "fcuking come on then".

really didn't know what to do. am still quite shocked by it to be honest, doubt i'll be out on a long road route anytime soon either

I've had that, was a car though, could'nt make out the incomprehensible crap the passenger was shouting, left a nice big green gob on the cars back window when i caught it at the traffic lights

Also had stones chucked at me by chav scum as i rode past (on two occasions), those pr*cks were dealt with  , i'm not particularly tough or brave (even though i was raised in Glasgow  ) but i dont stand for sh*te.

Regarding the original post, i've came across logs across paths in a lockal park

**edit - apologies if i'm hijacking a little**

No i didn't, more's the pity.

I was ever so slightly happy that i was going right and they carried straight on at the set of lights we were coming up to.

I spoke to the chap i was riding with (he did mostly the same route i was on a few times a week and this was my first cycle home from work) and he says he gets shouted at all the time..

I had a fair bit of abuse when i used to cycle round central london, but that was fair enough, i deserved most of it
