Now it looks like it’s only for components of MTB’s...
Perhaps an ampersand, a forward slash or some good ‘ole commas are in order to save any confusion.

Components;
1. Simplex groupset 1991 (though looks similar to sachs) : https://labibleduvelocataloguessimplex. ... -1991.html
2. CLB made canti levers and brakes named neptune/saturn. I've never seen the brakes before. would like to.
3. Stronglight - cranksets, notably rockstrong. Olight headset which is still made. (Would like to see the early silver version close up)
4. Abc system who made cnc'd brakes. I just got a pair of vbrakes recently. existed between the 90's till 00's
5. Black forest who briefly made cranksets. Had a lovely twisty look.
6. Mavic whom we all know
7. Sachs. If anyone has a photo of the purple rival groupset. would be kl to see.
Think that sums it up...
edit: A) Starbar (still exist) who made quality bars and tiges de selles. XC1/2/3 in titanium too.
B) Sunn made inhouse stuff in france under "Brubz"; stems, bars etc.

Mars 9000 is a 9 speed post SRAM takeover Sachs Quarz
Shifts nice with 9 speed Shimano shifters

Above: Mars 9000
Middle: Sachs Quarz
Below: Mars 9000 and Sachs Quarz Front Derailleur

All fabriqué en France

I’ve the Mars 9.000 which is a Sachs Quarz 9 speed - on my Bianchi
I had the even more beautiful 8 speed New Success on a Dynatech decade (front and rear) with Sachs power grip extreme grip shifters - later Sram Quarz.

Anyone know of any 7 or 8 speed Sachs index thumb shifters ?

Some of the earlier decathlon models were made by liberia in france. From what I've read, they designed their bikes beginning 1986 and sub contracted the manufacturing process to other frame builders.
They generally preferred national made and started to change strategy in the early 2000's to produce abroad. You can see a difference in welding on their bikes after the late 90's and general quality starts to lack. These nineties models were and still are, quality for money, hence they have a big following in france.

that's right ;)
Decathlon has its own design office, its engineers who design the frames. Between 1996 and 2000 the value for money of Decathlon bikes was the best.

Interesting seatpost binder construction

Canti and U-brake ready
Thanks for sharing these! A couple of works of art there my friend!
I’m totally unfamiliar with these - both made in France?

They are very French. The frames show a distinctive construction and details. The CL1 I still have.

In Holland they were marketed by Jan Jansen.
