I have a profound appreciation and love for the old stuff but struggle to find 4400 euros relatively cheap. Maybe just because I don't believe in the economic principle of "it is worth what someone wants to pay for it." I think at some point the price exceeds the true value of the thing. The point I was trying to make (I think) is not so much that new bikes are expensive, but that good quality second-hand bikes are (still) relatively cheap.
You may have to be quick, though, to get a good deal. In the automotive world people have cottoned on, and nice older cars (the ones that still have decent engines) are quickly becoming more expensive.
We are both so tight our collective arses creak and squeak as we walk.
