Man that's awesome. That's the first sovereign I've seen for sale online!

There's been one on ebay for a little while...don't know if it is still there.

This one looks to be in much better condition.

Very cool 8)

Quite small, note how slim the down tube is - looks like a 28.6, same as the top tube. Maybe a small/light buyer specified an exceptionally light tube selection?

You mean this one here: http://cgi.ebay.ca/BRODIE-SOVEREIGN...tain_Bikes?hash=item35a3a97060#ht_2212wt_1167?
This guy has been trying to sell it for the better part of a year. And yeah, I agree the one in Louisiana is much better.

'Hey I don't want to sell this bike so I'm asking twice what it's worth in case there's a nutcase out there. Could that be you?' eBay community's answer - 'No'.

To be fair, the nice one is too small for most people, whereas the owner-painted one looks like c18/19 size.

How much revered is Paul Brodie over there? e.g., what is the most valuable as a frame, a Brodie Sovereign, a de Kerf or a RM Altitude?

Yes, that's one one. Also, like where he writers, it is the lightest and strongest...those two words don't go hand in hand when it comes to bikes...at least imo.

Be interested in what my fellows Canadians would have to say, but I would probably say the old Brodies and handmade RMs when they were still made in Vancouver. You can still phone up Dekerf and plunk 2K on an SST or 3.7K for a Ti Elysium, and you can also still buy a RM blizzard (don't know where they are made now though-likely overseas in Taiwan). Paul hasn't built a frame for years even though the company bearing his name still cranks 'em out.

Maybe you missed an interesting thread on the main forum about a month or so ago - it was about PB selling off all of his frame-building equipment. He said he hadn't made a frame for several years, didn't say why though. Quite interesting stuff about how many frames he had made and over what timeframe. Kind of implied he made frames under his own name even after he had sold Brodie Bikes. Must be a bit weird competing against a brand that has your name on it.

And yes Blizzards have been built in Taiwan for a while now - maybe 2004 or something like that?
