Very, Very, Very Early Aluminum Mountain Bike

That's very interesting
What's it weigh ?
First thought was shed built , but looks more professional than that , obviously a batch run , what's the finish on the frame , anodising ?

Nice find

Mike,

Finish is anodized...not sure if it was originally black and faded to grey.

Weight is surprisingly light...13.2 kg. (29 pounds)

A beautiful day and some time on my hands, so I figured I'd see how it rides.....

If it's possible for a bike to be happy, this one was thrilled to be out on the trails today. It rode really well, and I had more fun on a bike than I have in a long time...pure smiles.

I still haven't had any luck ID'ing who built it, but I'm still trying if anyone has any ideas.

that bike rocks! Forks about 20 yrs ahead of it's time no? Love the mafacs too

Yes, forks definitely set it apart. I was a bit leery of how they attach, but all went well with the ride.
Mafacs stopped it in style.

very cool indeed, looks like a home brew to me

stamp could be anything, owners postcode, ref number when painted/anodised etc
