univega alpina pro

Hi guys. Sorry to bother you. A friend has this univega for sale and I reckon I could get it for £60. Its perfect size for me and apparently fantastic condition. But the problem is I don't know the first thing about univegas. I love the look of the bike just don't want to overpay and need advice to look for any common problems etc with them.

Any thoughts and ideas greatly appreciated.

One word comes up a lot with Univega's is under-rated, I own a Racelite one and its a damn fine ride.

As for problems, no that I know of.

Univegas are great.The only issue I see is that it looks to be on the large size.

Its a 20" frame. But I want it as a commuter/trail bike so prefer a bit bigger size (my old giant was 20.5 and lovely to ride). Had an 18" giant coldrock and felt way too small.

And managed to get it for £50 so going to have a look tomorrow

I have not heard anything but positive things about Univega, and rigid fork steel MTB's make great commuters.
Seems like a fair price, try and knock him down, try paying him in beer?? Lol
