Union mixte singlespeed

Got this bike in a lot of parts from the scrapper, mainly wheels. But thought this bike was to nice to scrap. Fitted a new chain and it was ready to go. Even the lights worked. IMG_20250526_191026325.webp

Rode it a week and try to sell it but no intrest. So decided to make it singlespeed. Stripped it to bare frame an used some parts for a diffrent project.

It cleaned up pretty good and treated some rust. IMG_20250730_114331247.webp

A weird feature of 80s Dutch frames. Pressfit bottom bracket😋 IMG_20250730_114324025_HDR.webp IMG_20250730_120243086.webp IMG_20250730_120918729_HDR.webp

Not much, I'm afraid. The Flamingo name was used by Union for many decades for some of their sportier models. I don't recall having seen this particular one before. Looks rather elegant.

-----

headlugs appear BOCAMA but my materials not showing a match for model designation

bottom bracket shell BOCAMA pattern Ref. 5

seat lug BOCAMA pattern "T"

both plate style laterals bridges likely ESGE Pletscher, may not be so marked, Agrati another producer for these

laterals bridge BOCAMA pattern "PLAIN"

pump pegs appear Cyclo Ref. 25

stay-mounted chainguard bracket NERVEX Ref. 832

crown looks Agrati, possibly N. 000.8519; appears as though it may be wearing a cap...

---

rear mech should exhibit a date marking; decoder ring here:

http://www.vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm

portion of stem which was inside steerer should show an uncoded date

right end of bar may show an uncoded date

---

are you able to determine how translucent smoke colour of head parts is achieved? plating, other coating?
