Ultra Retro Browning Suspension Fork (Very Rare! & Sold)

tragic endin

I had a specially built frame designed specifically for the Browning by the man himself. He had run out of money trying to get this system accepted and I helped him a little with marketing but to no avail. Interestingly he was responsible for much of the undercarriage design of the Concorde and you can see the aircraft heritage in this design. Tragically he took his own life which I found very sad as he was one of those good English engineers who failed to get full recognition.

Interesting story. I wonder if I met him once. I was about 11 (probably around 1982) and I was at Yeovilton where they have the '00' Concorde on display. I was looking at the front wheel, wondering how many landings it would take before you had to change the tyre (as you do when you're 11  !!). Anyway, thought I'd ask the oldish chap who was stood next to it having a look, too. He told me the answer straight, and added "I should know, I helped design the front end"... could it have been him?
