U.S.E Sub fork

Yes, it worked quite well from memory. They were only 100mm travel, but as they didn't dive loads under braking it was well used.
Clunky top-out though.

Long shot - but does anyone have any SUB parts. I have just broken the mount today, that holds the caliper in place.

I have had it 21+ years from new and it has done really, really well ...... but nothing lasts forever. It is the main cantilever arm bit that hold the caliper in place. I have the rest. If you know where there may perhaps be one - I would be really interested. Keeping an eye out on all the normal places - Youtube / Marketplace etc. Thanks.

Rory Hitchens was advertising loads of spares last year. No idea if he had any takers, I *think* they may have been free to people who could make use of them.

He's UK retro MTB scene royalty and an absolutely lovely gent to boot. I'm sure if you messaged him on facebook he'll help you if he can.

That is good thinking. It was actually Rory who initially boxed up and sent me the fork from Petworth all those years ago, when he fully had his feet fully under the desk at USE. I have contacted him occasionally over the years for the odd thing.

Let me see if I can do that one further time. Thanks for the suggestion - not quite sure why I didn't think of it myself - only that Rory no longer works there (as I am sure you know) - but I do know, as you suggest, he has always remained helpful on such matters. Thanks.

@edward please let me know how you get on if you contact Rory!

I haven't logged onto here for ages, I used to have a USE S.U.B. fork and loved it and still regret selling it. I did a search here out of nostalgia, found your post and would still be interested in getting hold of one!

(and did anyone actually attempt that modern air conversion?!)

I messaged Rory on FB, but not heard anything yet. I am on the lookout for parts - well, anything really. I will come back to you (here) if I hear anything. I understand Rory had a box of fork parts last year - but they all went in the scrap bin. Sad.

Can you send me a picture “ close up “ of the damage of the missing lug !!!!!!

This may not be helpful because I don't have any spares but..... I have a complete one in good nick that I'm willing to sell, comes with a USE hub and wheel. Haven't got round to listing it yet. Was umming and arrring 🤔 as to what its worth.
Good luck with the spares hunt
