TVT 92

Re:

Very nice frame with that one-piece headtube. Quite rare I believe. Only recall them in green, rebadged as Villiger for the Helvetica(?) team.

e

you think about such one - it's not one piece headtube, but is is with Villiger and Suntour SUPERBE PRO.
The one piece Version had been equipped with Sachs New Success group set, was the last year of Helvetia before the terminated

I thought I'd also seen the one-piece headtube with Suntour Superbe but indeed only found one online with Sachs:

Re:

Not quite the clear photo I was looking for but I did find two images of one-piece headtube Villiger TVT's from 1991 (Suntour Superbe).

Erich Maechler(?) in the 1991 Tour de France:

Personally, I prefer Charly Mottet's bike

No luck with that Chris?

...you be sure that the bikes of the Helvetia riders are TVTs - they also used steelmade Villiger labeled Peugeots

the rider on left pic is French Giles Delion during his time with Paul Köchli's Team Helvetia La Suisse

Unexpected visit to France meant I got the chance to unwrap it .

Even better condition than I expected . Brakes have a blue bolt too .

off course pedals will be changed to Look or similar .

front wheel is Mavic hub on Mavic rim

rear hub is Shimano Dura Ace on Mavic rim .

so you got it great! that head tube is marvellous I bet it makes a difference to the handling. Sadly due to the weather I haven't had a chance to ride mine, there are quite a few of these (with the split head tube) out there, whilst begging spares off old friends who still ride and race Ive come across 2 both in great condition they got rid of all their old bikes but could never bear to part with the TVT's , still can't get my head round the 1989 £1700 frame and forks price tag !!!! :0

So the dura ace spares I've ended up with after my build are 3 1/2 pairs of dura ace gear levers mix of 7 and 8 speed, a 7400 braze on front mech, a pair of 7402 brake levers and 2 rear mechs 7401 and 7402 , 7 brake pads and shoes, and 2 dura ace 7 speed screw on freewheels all in excellent condition, plus a mint 600 headset, what should I do with all that? Also picked up a mint pair of mavic heliums from the 90's (red hubs and rims) that Im going to use on my Coyote Ultralight with mavic mektronic but might give them a spin on my TVT too , I'll post the Coyote very soon
