Mavic URD bottom bracket:
I was intrigued by this piece of kit and bought it BNIB from Fenton for £45 a few weeks ago.
It allows the a very high quality bearing to be installed inside a BB shell which has been stripped, or which has an unusual thread. The engineering, as you'd expect from Mavic is superb.
The Mombat site refers to the fact that the hollow spindle is drilled, internally, to allow lubrication of the bearings, without dismantling
It won't, however, allow the user to insert it, if the bike's BB shell has any internal pips, as you might find with down pull cable guides or downhill tensioners.
This was the case with the bike I bought it to use on
