Today's Ride

Well that was strange. Finished the Kona AA today and went for a quick 30 minute ride to check brakes and gears, all working well and the bike rides really nicely on the road. No doubt the aluminium frame with the P2s will make it a bit of a bone shaker off road but I have my 853 framed Explosif for that eventuality.
However the strangeness was nothing to do with the bike. When I returned I noticed a pile of glass by the car, the front passenger window had been smashed. Nothing was stolen, there was nothing in the car to steal. The car was parked on a busy residential road, on a clear bright afternoon in a row of my neighbours' cars, theirs all fairly new BMWs, mine, a 15 year old Honda. The window that was smashed was on the road side of the car.
This just does not make sense at all, if someone had smashed it they would have had to stand in the road to do it, this does not seem likely.
I'm baffled.
Anyway, here are some pictures of the Kona AA.

But the glass was outside the car, not inside?
Implies it wasn't smashed in - might have been a failure - our transit did that.

I know I always complain about the wind, but today really was pretty gusty. Nice and sunny though, so tooled off on the Jake for a bit of road / gravel action. Heading out of town with the wind was great; coming back a real penance -- a slog mostly, with some gusts pushing the bike off its line. Good to be out, but more tiring than 40km / 450 climbing would suggest. Still, better than those days when you don't ride at all.
