2°C and sunshine after a rainy sunday....hmmm... I guess I'm taking the longer and more beautiful route to the office.

A short stop on top to enjoy the view...

Maybe a short stop at the brewery?
Nah, to soon...😋

But I would say there are only few better ways to start the week.
Woah - top commute

Always forget about this thread. 😕
Dusted this old girl off this morning and been for a bimble down the lakes and along the river. Headwind home was nasty but as always good to be out. The sun even appeared briefly. 👍 😁 Scared (more the other way round to be honest) a Red Kite, who dropped whatever it was ripping apart and took off literally 2 yards in front of me. Those things are huge, definitely wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of it! 😂 DSC_0157.webp DSC_0160.webp DSC_0161.webp DSC_0162.webp

Aah, Rob's bike.

Went past one of the Lewes Bonfire society fire sites this morning. Absolute f***in' mayhem kicks off in Lewes big time tomorrow. This is just one of the eight fire sites around town. Each has its own massive fire, parade and firework display.

Yikes I remember Cliffe Society in the quarry in the 80's: Five hundred and more in the darkness before the fire caught hold chanting together 'Burn the Pope!!, Burn the Pope!!...' it really did feel like medieval mass hysteria.

AI summary
The Cliffe Bonfire Society in Lewes has a history of controversy related to its traditional anti-Catholic displays, which include parading "No Popery" banners and burning effigies of Pope Paul V during its annual November 5th celebrations

My wife is writing a short story about one of the Lewes martyrs. She'll love that article, thanks.
